Camilla & John // Borris House

Camilla & John’s wedding was a highlight for the year for me. When you get a beautiful couple, a stunning venue, sunshine and a DJ/saxophone combination it’s a pleasure to film.

Borris House is the ancestral home of the McMorrough Kavanaghs, one of the few Irish families to hold onto their lands during centuies of upheaval. There is so much character to this place, from the architecture to the decor with paintings, antique furniture and a library bursting with old artifacts and books. This is a very special and exclusive venue to tie the knot, it oozes elegance and charm.

Camilla got ready in Borris House while john got ready in The Stephouse Hotel just outside the venue. The ceremony took place in the picturesque setting of Rathanna in St Fortchern’s Church, a short drive from Borris. Guests had a quick pint in Osborne’s ( a quaint little pub opposite the church!) before and after the ceremony.

We used the beautiful surroundings of Borris House to get bridal party and family shots and Camilla & John took some time away form guests to stroll around the grounds and spend some time getting a few more intimate shots. The sun shone all day and guests mingled in front of the house looking out on the 650 acres of surrounding farmland, not a bad way to spend an afternoon!

Dinner, speeches and dancing were all in the dining room. The DJ & Sax player made sure the dance-floor was full all night. I’ve honestly never seen a dance-floor like it, the energy was electric!
